Tour description

A pleasant bike ride in the area of the renowned and famous Chianti Classico. This route is designed for more relaxed, less experienced cyclists and families. It winds along some of the most beautiful secondary roads in Tuscany, with enchanting views and is the destination of endless panoramas.

There are some gradual climbs along the route, amply rewarded by lowlands.

The excursion begins in the small village of Gaiole in Chianti, made famous for the origin of the Chianti Classico wine and also home to the famous vintage cycling race L’Eroica, dedicated to amateurs.

The cycling route follows the direction of one of the most renowned castles in the area, well fortified, from the 11th century, also the cradle of Chianti Classico in the 19th century

You reach the castle by bike or on foot to admire the splendid views it offers and its imposing walls.

The castle cellar offers tastings of the best wines and vintages of this prestigious estate, which has belonged to the same noble family for over 35 generations.

The tour continues through some sections of the famous off-road cycling race and leads to the small village of Castagnoli, of significant historical importance.
Here you will taste some important labels of the famous Chianti Classico but also other types of grapes.
You return to Gaiole crossing breathtaking panoramas with splendid views of nearby valleys and castles.
